When using Limecraft for AI subtitling, you can export the subtitles in a number of file formats. This article describes which export formats are available and the steps you need to take to export such subtitles.

Before you begin

Please note that you need access to the subtitle function and the permissions to export subtitles. Also note that the export options are configurable; if one or more of the export options below are not directly visible, please contact your account administrator.

Exporting subtitles

First of all, please check that the subtitle editor is switched on using the navigation bar on top. Also, in case you manually created subtitles, please make sure the subtitles are ready for exporting.

This is a picture of Limecraft subtitling editor. Left side is the player with the subtitle on it, in the middle a transcribing app with the text, on the right the subtitle editor with the subtitles listed.

At this point you can use the EXPORT function on top of the subtitle editor. Upon export, you can choose either of the following export formats:

  • SRT: Subtitles for online use. Less possibilities than other formats.
  • STL: Broadcasting, Avid, Premiere
  • EBU-TT-D: XML-format (non binary)
  • WebVTT: webformat

The subtitle files will be dropped in the folder that your browser uses as download space. If one of these formats is not available, please contact your production or account admin to check the settings
